The Theatre Year in Review

This year also saw familiar faces, Randall Dodge and Linda Libby, shining in role after role:  . . . Libby in Cygnet Theatre’s Company, where she was the jaded Joanne — imagine Dorothy Parker times ten — and as Lady Bracknell, a stentorian foghorn in Cygnet’s stately/funny The Importance of Being Earnest.

Best of Theatre 2013

Grey Gardens, Ion Theatre Company:

Linda Libby's rendering of the soul-searing "Another Winter in a Summer Town" is just one devastatingly beautiful moment in this production of a 2006 musical...

 - Ciy Beat, David L.Coddon

Linda Libby is a splendid Lady Bracknell. She’s so extreme, and extremely funny, including lapses into a foghorn-voice. It’s as if Lady B’s from another dimension or era.

 - Jeff Smith for San Diego Reader

Some shout outs are in order here. Linda Libby, who played Joanne in Starlight’s production some moons ago, is taking another shot at her. She is simply spot on perfect as the cynical, barbed and hard core Joanne (“I’ve been introduced to him but forgot his name”), twice or thrice times married, now to Larry. Her show stopper “The Ladies Who Lunch” actually stops the show. She is terrific!
